A beautiful set of four large Ancient Roman agate beads, dating to the 1st–3rd century AD, each expertly hand-shaped and highly polished. The beads display natural banding, clouding, and mineral inclusions typical of ancient agate. All four pieces feature original ancient perforations, indicating their use as decorative elements in Roman jewellery.

The surfaces retain a smooth ancient polish, with colours ranging from translucent cream to grey and brown tones. Agate was highly valued in the Roman Empire for its durability, protective qualities, and aesthetic appeal.
