At Dorabiala, we believe that history is not simply something to be admired from a distance, but something to be experienced, appreciated and preserved.

Founded by an artist, curator and ancient art conservator, Dorabiala is an independent gallery specialising in ancient jewellery, fine art, historical objects and professional art restoration.

Our collection brings together carefully selected artefacts spanning thousands of years of human history, from the ancient civilisations of Egypt, Greece and Rome to the fascinating cultures of Asia, the Near East and beyond.

Our Philosophy

Every object has a story.

Whether it is a Roman glass bead that has survived two millennia, an ancient coin transformed into a contemporary pendant, or a ceramic vessel carefully brought back to life, we see each piece as a tangible connection to the people and cultures that came before us.

Our approach combines historical appreciation with contemporary aesthetics, allowing ancient craftsmanship to find a new place in the modern world.

We believe that collecting ancient art should be both accessible and meaningful, offering the opportunity to own something truly individual, with a history far greater than our own.

Restoration & Conservation

Conservation is at the heart of Dorabiala.

With years of professional experience in ancient art restoration and conservation, including work with established London auction houses and private collections, our founder brings specialist knowledge and a hands-on understanding of historical materials to the gallery.

Our restoration practice is guided by respect for the original object, its craftsmanship and its historical integrity.

From delicate archaeological ceramics to complex reconstructions, each project is approached with patience, precision and a commitment to preserving the past.

The Dorabiala Collection

Our gallery is organised into three collecting departments: Ancient Jewellery, Fine Art, and Objects & Curiosities, alongside our dedicated Restoration & Conservation practice.

Each department reflects our curiosity for exceptional craftsmanship, unusual discoveries and objects that transcend their original time and purpose.

Some pieces are preserved in their original form. Others are thoughtfully incorporated into contemporary jewellery, creating wearable connections between antiquity and the present.
