Weight: Approx. 4 g

A beautiful ancient Egyptian pendant composed of ancient jasper and faience beads, displaying an attractive combination of natural earthy tones and characteristic Egyptian blue-green colouring.

Jasper was valued in ancient Egypt for its durability, colour and symbolic associations, while faience was one of the most distinctive materials used for Egyptian amulets and beads. Its blue-green tones were closely associated with regeneration, fertility, life and the Nile.

The combination of stone and faience creates a striking wearable composition, bringing together materials commonly used in ancient Egyptian personal adornment and amuletic jewellery.

The ancient elements show natural surface wear, patination and weathering consistent with age. They have been mounted on a modern cord for contemporary wear or display.

Provenance: From an old European collection, acquired before 2000.
